The Mosaic Foundation Gala 2005
The Mosaic Foundation held its eighth annual benefit gala May 12 in the great hall of the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. Mosaic’s fund-raising goal for the 2005 Gala was to raise $700,000 to launch a tele-medicine program in Morocco. This program will use advanced communications technology to make possible remote consultations and diagnoses to improve pediatric care throughout the Arab world. This network initially will be linked to a university hospital in Morocco. The evening entertainment also featured a film, produced especially for the event and filmed in Morocco, displaying the beauty of traditional Arabic costumes and jewelry against the exotic backdrop of Moroccan scenery.
