The Hunger Project, a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger has named the Liberian president as this year’s recipient for of its Africa Prize. The cash prize, which was started in 1987 as a means to bring forward effective leadership committed to the well-being of Africa’s people, has included heads of state such as Nelson Mandela, as well as educators, scientists, women’s activists and grassroots organizers as some of it past winners.
