Blogging, a live Twitter feed, on stage Internet demos, thumb drive presentations… a high tech conference in Silicon Valley?
No... the U.S. Army's World Wide Public Affairs Symposium in Crystal City, Virginia. Not only does the Army want to win on the battlefield, they want to win the war of words that is fought everyday - globally - on multiple fronts. To do this, they realize that utilizing today's technologies gives them an edge.
In attendance to award honors and accolades to the front line Public Affairs Officers and Non-Coms who wage this war were Secretary of the Army, Pete Geren; Representative Ike Skelton; and Major General Kevin Bergner. Throughout the three- day Symposium, CPR provided audio and video support for a varied list of speakers - with an even more varied set of media. CPR's challenge was to handle disparate video, data and audio content ( often arriving with the presenters only moments before they went on stage ) and to offer the option of displaying any media, including the Image Magnification cameras in the room, to any screen at any time.
