The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools (OSDFS) will host its national conference, "Making the Connection: Creating and Maintaining Conditions for Learning" in National Harbor, MD. Sessions at the conference will focus on preventing youth alcohol and drug abuse; bullying and cyberbullying; preventing violence in schools; emergency management; health, mental health, and physical education; data collection; special populations; and emerging issues. Potential OSDFS grantees, juvenile justice practitioners, policymakers, education and prevention leaders, and school administrators, among others, are encouraged to attend. Registration is free and available online until July 22, 2011, or until space is no longer available.
